Mystery
and Magic
This is a guided mediation to enhance
your experience of Mystery and Magic in your life..
You are standing
in the middle of a warm, golden desert..
Take off your shoes and feel
the warm sand on the bottom of your bare feet..
Allow your breathing to
slow down and become quiet, feeling safe..
In the
distance you see an Oasis with rich foliage and a large tree. Walk to the tree
and wrap your arms around its trunk. Feels its roots reaching to the center of
the Earth. See the soles of your feet having roots just like the
tree.
Stand there unshakable and strong and let the
warm desert air brush across your face and arms. Be still.
Behind you there
is a rock formation. From the top of the rocks a steady stream of pure,
aquamarine water falls.
Stand beneath the water and
let it wash away your stress and tired muscles. It feels like silk as it rolls
over your skin. Let the water run over your face and smooth out the tension.
Smile and feel good.
Looking down you see an ancient
cave carved out of the rock. There is a fire burning in it. Next to it there is
a paper. Pick up the paper and write down all your hopes and fears, sorrows and
anything else you wish to rid yourself of and throw it in the fire. Watch it
burn completely.
Use this meditation whenever you feel drained and it
will help you to regenerate yourself.
When you
enter into the Great Mystery of life you begin to see the magic in everything
that happens. The great mystery and magic of life was celebrated and kept alive
in the teachings of those cultures who honored the Earth and her seasons.
Druids, Celt's, Lemurians and tribal cultures followed the great mystery and
taught it to their children. We as a culture are returning to the calling of
this mystery and magic in our lives. We want to experience a deeper connection
to life. We want to regain our power, our aliveness. We want to remember what we
felt when we went through the rites of passage to become a man or a woman in our
tribe. We want to remember our special gifts that we came to share with our
brothers and sisters.
We want to know our place within the group. Where
we can stand tall in our beingness and allow others to stand tall in their truth
as well.
We yearn to create new ceremonies, new
opportunities to share with others beyond the few holiday gatherings we have
grown accustomed to. New ways to celebrate the Earth, her bounty and each other
and our bounty.
To live rich, full and meaningful
lives. Lives of purpose, lives of connection, lives of sharing, growing and
becoming.
I took an Earth Walk to help to open the
gates of the great mystery for myself and I will share with you what I
experienced. I offer this to you so that you too can have an Earth Walk of your
own and open to the deeper mysteries of your own life.
EARTH
WALK
I begin my Earth Walk with sincere prayers to set
my feet upon the path that is right for me.
As I enjoy the beauty of the
backyard, eating my breakfast, I hear a woodpecker and see that it is directly
in front of me tapping at the outside of the tree to finds it morning
food.
I can't remember what woodpecker medicine is so
I consult the Animal Speak book to find out that its gifts are Rhythm and
Discernment. Not having drummed for quite some time I feel moved to take my drum
and visit my sacred place on the land. When I arrive at the first place I feel
called to gifts that are awaiting me. Three tiny pinecone's ( the size fairies
could relate to) and three rocks are placed right in front of me. Each rock is a
different shape. One is round, one is triangular and one is heart shaped. I drum
to give thanks for these gifts.
As I am drumming a Raven lands on the
tree across the water. Magic is alive here.
I walk
down the path to where I usually go for my most powerful connections and I am
stopped on the road where the cars are passing and asked to do ceremony there.
Not my choice for tuning in deeply but I surrender.
Within moments of my drumming I see White Buffalo Woman coming towards me across
the road through the trees and I begin to cry. It is quite a gift for her to
come, she doesn't come often.
She gives me the
message of how many days I am to continue my vision quest, what I am to
eat, what I need to focus on to release and then tells me to Dance the Dream
alive. Right there on the road I begin to dance and drum spontaneously and
lovingly in gratitude for her gift.
After I finish my
drumming and dancing I walk down the path to where I usually go and hear a frog
croaking which I know means cleansing. I find my spot to sit and drum and call
to all the nature spirits. I sing to them. I offer my ceremony of love,
forgiveness and blessing. I feel I have reached deep into my
heart.
When I return to the path three white
butterflies dance in front of me and then take their leave. For now the journey
is complete. I will go home and create a fairy ring for my friends and tomorrow
a new journey will begin.
Blessings and Magic in your
life,
Arianha
